Czech self-employed pay higher health insurance premia earlier (05.02.2009)

In January 2009 all Czech self-employed persons excepting those that do not have a pre-determined monthly premium amount, must pay health insurance premiums of at least 1.590 Kc monthly. This impatcs especially the self-employed person who according to the 2007 Health insurance Overview of Income and Expenses paid advances in 2008 at an amount less tha 1.590. Generally and with respect to those with a higher, pre-determined amount, this obligation to pay the higher amount was not required until after submission of the income tax return and beginning with the payment for April. Deadline for payment of the January premium is 9.2.2009.
